What is CBD (cannabidiol) and how does is work?

CBD (cannabidiol) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid. The body can absorb the natural Catany CBDa products directly into the body so that it can do its work. This happens from the Endocannabinoid system, which every body has.

What is the Endocannabinoid system?

In recent times there has been much research into the active ingredients of cannabis and how these substances help in combatting pain and supporting the healing process of the body. One of the most import discoveries is that the brain has its own cannabis system. This system is known as the endocannabinoid system.
Endo is derived from the Greek meaning within, inner, absorbing, or containing. A Cannabinoid is one of a class of diverse chemical compounds that acts on cannabinoid receptors in cells that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain
The cannabinoids produced in the body are almost identical to those found in cannabis ( Phytocannabinoids) and the body therefore readily accepts the Phytocannabinoids as the body’s own product.
The endocannabinoid system is involved in numerous processes in our bodies. Recent research has recognized that it plays an important role in the modulatory system in the functioning of the brain, endocrine, and immune tissues. It appears to play a very important regulatory role in the secretion of hormones related to reproductive functions and response to stress.
Throughout the body, the endocannabinoid system is functioning to help the body to maintain homeostasis (balance) and health. A good functioning cannabinoid system is therefore imperative for optimal health. The CBDa products of Catany World lend the necessary support to maintain this vital system.

CBD vs CBDA

What is the difference between CBD and CBDa?

CBD is processed and CBDa purely natural.

The most beneficial substance derived from industrial hemp and which can support our endocannabinoid system is CBDa. This Cannabidiol acid is destroyed in the process of drying or heating the plant. What remains is CBD. This CBD has been found to be less effective than CBDa in triggering our endocannabinoid system. We at Catany World have been very careful in the manufacturing process of our products to ensure that this valuable CBDa is preserved.

Is CBDa a psychoactive drug?

There are about 60 known active substances in cannabis (marihuana). One of these is the non-psychoactive CBD. This is not to be confused with tetrahydrocannabinol or THC as it is commonly known. THC is the substance responsible for feeling ‘high’ or ‘stoned’. CBDa contains a minuscule amount ( 0,02%) of THC. This amount is not anywhere near what you would need to achieve the aforementioned effects. CBDa is completely safe, non-addictive and is categorised as a food supplement.
